What to do

  • GALA DALÍ CASTLE

The castle in Púbol dates from the 12th century. Dalí bought it in 1969 and transformed it completely for his muse Gala, who rests in a mausoleum under the castle, dressed in a red Dior dress.
He built her a throne and painted her as a goddess. Dalí himself could only visit with Gala’s handwritten permission, which might have something to do with the fact that Gala would enjoy multiple lovers.
The garden has sculptures of elephants with legs like mosquitos.
