At the heart of Bearleaders are The Bearleaders — selected well-travelled tastemakers and leaders in their fields, from Michelin-starred chefs, hoteliers and sommeliers to designers and artists.
Through our editorial newsletter, social channels and Destination Guides, we share their favourite places around the world, and the Events & Hotel Journeys featuring them .
Together with The Bearleaders and exceptional hotels, we curate unique Hotel Journeys & Events from scratch — creating insider access to their expertise, people, places and worlds, beyond a public offering.
These concepts are shared with our Bearleaders newsletter audience and offered to selected B2B partners in the Luxury Travel Trade and corporate market.
The Bearleaders
The Bearleaders are well-travelled tastemakers like Michelin-starred chefs, designers, hoteliers, sommeliers, artists. They share their knowledge, open their worlds for you, and together with them we curate unique Hotel Journeys and Events.
Our Destination Guides are an editorial part of Bearleaders, bringing together recommendations from The Bearleaders on where to eat, drink, stay and what to experience.
‘Bear-leader’ was the nickname for the first travel guides who guided the young nobility in the 17th to 19th centuries, safely across the European continent on a Grand Tour journey.
Our Story
After graduating from law school, working in fashion and spending more than a decade at leading digital media companies and start-ups, Suzan Fluitman founded Bearleaders just before the pandemic.
Bearleaders began by building a network around The Bearleaders, sharing the stories, perspectives and favourite places of well-travelled tastemakers through profiles, our newsletter, social channels and Destination Guides.
Over time, the network evolved from sharing insider knowledge to creating access to unique experiences. This led to the development of Hotel Journeys & Events, curated from scratch with exceptional hotels and The Bearleaders.
Today, these concepts form the commercial focus of Bearleaders, connecting our network with selected partners in the Luxury Travel Trade and corporate market.
