I’m known as ‘The Boating Chef’, since I love to take my guests on a boat trip to show them my home town, combining a boating safari with a culinary experience. I will take care of everything, including a lunch, boat trip and an 8-course menu.
NATIONAL PARK WEERRIBBEN - WIEDEN
This beautiful nature reserve - the largest swamplands in North-Western Europe - is the perfect place for canoeing, biking, and hiking. Its unique landscape and varied wildlife make it an absolute must-see for nature lovers.

RESTAURANT DE LINDENHOF
We started building our paradise called De Lindenhof in Giethoorn 25 years ago. Together with my wife Marjan we gained Two Michelin Stars. Serving both local and international cuisine, the food is heavily inspired by the beautiful surroundings, with clean and pure taste in the foreground.
PALINGROKERIJ KONTER
This authentic smokehouse in Vollenhove is an excellent spot to get fresh and smoked eel, salmon, and mackerel. Their products are smoked the same way today as when they were established in 1911, with masterful craftsmanship and an open fire. Want to have a taste straight away? You can also enjoy a sandwich on the terrace with a beautiful view over the harbor.
GRAND CAFE FANFARE
This cosy local pub in the middle of the picturesque town of Giethoorn is the perfect spot to taste the locally brewed Geytbier. Looking for a snack? They have delicious shrimp croquettes and loaded fries!
